Jurs and DeLong Carry Back-to-Back Podium Momentum Into Indianapolis

6 mins

Advance Motorsports drivers Austin Jurs and Parker DeLong are heading into the final round of the 2026 Pirelli GT4 America season with momentum firmly on their side after securing back-to-back podium finishes in the No. 131 McLaren Artura GT4.

What has already been a season of tremendous growth for Advance Motorsports took another major step forward at Barber Motorsports Park.

Coming off a strong weekend at Road America, where Jurs and DeLong earned a 2nd place Silver-class podium and overall 3rd place result, the pairing arrived at Barber determined to continue moving the program forward.

They did exactly that.

Pace From the Start at Barber

From the opening session, the No. 131 McLaren showed that it would be a contender.

Jurs and DeLong finished fastest overall in the opening practice session, immediately putting Advance Motorsports at the top of the timing sheets against the full Pirelli GT4 America field.

That pace carried through the weekend.

After a solid 4th-place finish in the opening race, the team entered Race 2 with an opportunity to fight at the very front.

DeLong took the opening stint and established the No. 131 at the head of the Silver field, maintaining the lead through the first portion of the race. Advance Motorsports remained in control through the mandatory pit cycle before Jurs took over for the closing stint.

As the final laps unfolded, the battle for the overall victory intensified.

When the checkered flag fell, Jurs brought the McLaren home second overall and second in the Silver class, delivering one of the strongest results in Advance Motorsports' young history.

Back-to-Back Podiums

The Barber result marked the second consecutive event weekend in which Jurs and DeLong stood on the Silver-class podium.

For Advance Motorsports, the recent results are an important indication of how far the program has come during its first season at this level.

The objective from the beginning of the year was to continually learn, improve and close the gap to the established teams at the front of GT4 America.

With back-to-back podiums now behind them, that progress is beginning to show where it matters most.

Jurs and DeLong Continue to Develop as a Pairing

The partnership between Austin Jurs and Parker DeLong has also continued to strengthen with each weekend.

Both drivers have demonstrated outright speed, while becoming increasingly comfortable working together through setup changes, data analysis, qualifying and the unique demands of one-hour GT4 competition.

The last two rounds have shown the potential of that combination.

But neither driver nor the team views the recent success as the destination.

There is still one more opportunity remaining in 2026.

One Final Round: Indianapolis

Advance Motorsports now turns its attention to one of the biggest venues on the calendar: Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The final Pirelli GT4 America event of the season takes place October 8–11, bringing the team's rookie campaign to a close at one of the most historic racing facilities in the world.

AMS will arrive at Indianapolis carrying its strongest run of form of the season.

Back-to-back podiums.

Back-to-back pole positions

And a No. 131 McLaren that has continued to get stronger as the year has progressed.

The goal for the final round is not to simply protect that momentum.

It is to build on it.

Indianapolis represents one final opportunity for Austin Jurs, Parker DeLong and the entire Advance Motorsports team to show how far this program has come in its first season — and to carry that progress directly into what comes next.

One round remains.

The work isn't finished yet.
